Planning a kitchen remodel
Most kitchen projects fall somewhere between a refresh and a full remodel. A refresh keeps the existing layout and replaces surfaces — cabinet fronts or boxes, countertops, backsplash, fixtures and paint. A full remodel changes how the room works: walls move, the sink or range relocates, and plumbing, electrical and ventilation follow. The more the layout changes, the more likely the work needs a permit and inspections.
That is where hiring a licensed general contractor matters. We coordinate the trades, prepare and submit the permit application to the local building department, and schedule the inspections as the work progresses, so a kitchen in Canoga Park, Woodland Hills or Northridge is built to code from the first walk-through to the final sign-off.

What clients say
All reviews →Kitchen Remodeling questions
Does a kitchen remodel need a permit?
Replacing surfaces like countertops or cabinet fronts often does not, but work that changes plumbing, electrical, walls or the layout usually does. When your project needs one, we prepare and submit the permit application, coordinate the plans and schedule the inspections. Permit fees are billed at cost as part of your estimate.
Can I keep my current layout and just update the kitchen?
Yes. Keeping the layout and replacing cabinets, countertops, fixtures and finishes is a common approach. We walk the kitchen with you, talk through what you want to change, and the written estimate spells out exactly what is included.
How do payments work on a kitchen remodel?
The down payment is never more than $1,000 or 10% of the contract price, whichever is less, as California law requires. After that, payments are tied to completed milestones in your written contract, and the final payment is due only after you walk the finished kitchen with us.
